This is a common question for many organizations: How fast or slow are we moving Opportunities through our pipeline?

Well, with the help of the Opportunity History Object and a well built dataflow, we can easily answer that and provide key insights about the pipeline.

Before we start, I have to give credit to Pete Lyons. He gave me a few ideas and key directions to complete this. Go check out his channel if you haven’t yet:

For this example, I will be using a Dev instance that already had Opportunities created and the History Object configured. I had to manually move a few Opportunities through the stages to simulate the flow of a live instance.

You can select all the fields but for this example the absolute required ones are:

  • OpportunityID
  • CreatedDate
